To bring people to Christ, through biblical teaching

Encourage, support, and love another as a community brought together through our common faith in Jesus Christ

As a church, we are closely connected and committed to our local community. We stay involved through service and partnership with various local ministries

As a community of Christ followers, we at Walker's EPC find identity and purpose in the final words of Jesus to his disciples:

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20, ESV)

These words convey much about the church - both then and now. In this, Jesus identifies his church as:

  • A community brought together in common faith, activity and purpose

  • This close bond makes our community a family of Christ followers

  • Our family finds identity together as we share in worship

  • As a family we encourage, support and love another through the teaching of Scripture

  • We seek to grow this family by helping others to know Christ through his Church

  • In all of this we stay connected to the risen Christ, who will one day return bodily to fellowship with his Church

From this understanding Walker's EPC derives our mission "To bring people to Christ, through biblical teaching."
